Hi Diary,
I’ve just had the worst day ever! It all began at morning break. This horrible boy came over and pushed me for no reason. When I pushed him back I was the one who got into trouble. I was given a nasty note from Ms Thomas to take home to mom.

When he woke up from his nap he could not see the donkey and started searching for the donkey everywhere. From that I understood that his left eye was blind. There were wheat seeds scattered on the ground and I understood that he must have been carrying a load of wheat. The judge understood the boy’s cleverness and told the man to forgive the boy.

Puppets have been used for centuries in Indonesia to tell the stories of the ancient epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabarata, as well as ancient myths. Modern stories also utilize this ancient art form for contemporary audience.
Puppets fall into two major classifications, wayang kulit the leather or shadow puppet of Central Java, and wayang golek-wooden puppets of West Java. There are several varieties of wooden puppets. Some expatriats en joy collecting the same characters by various artisans, or all the characters in a scene or story, or just characters that strike their fancy. Good guys, bad guys, gods, demons, nobles, giants, clowns, princes and princesses and monkeys, all can be found in traditional puppet forms. Less commonly seen are the Wayang Kulit, a flat wooden puppet.
